In the spirit of Ramadan, Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, representing the Ogun Central Senatorial District, hosted leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for an Iftar dinner break from the Ramadan fast.
The Iftar occurred at his residence and occurred
on Friday evening in Abeoa, Ogun State.
The dinner aims to share friendly moments with politicians within the rank and file of the APC and, by extension, the people of the constituency.
During a sermon, the Chief Imam/National Missioner, Sa’adatul Abadiyya Organisation of Nigeria, Alhaji Abdul-Lateef Ismail recalled Senator Salisu’s contributions to community development and the propagation of Islam in Ogun State, especially in Ogun Central Senatorial District.
While seeking support to foster development in the constituency, the cleric urged all attendees to work together with stakeholders in the overriding interest of the constituency.
Among those in attendance were the State Chairman of APC, Chief Yemi Sanusi; Ogun Central Senatorial Chairman, Chief Sunday Sowunmi; a member of the House of Assembly representing the Abeokuta South federal constituency, Hon. Afọlábí Afupe; the Speaker of Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Daisi Elemide; Ogun State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Ganiyu Hamza; Special Adviser to the governor, Engineer Babatunde Adesina; Chief Imam of Odeda local government, Imma Sultan Omotola Oguntade; Dr. Rabiu Kushimo; local government chairmen Hon. Fọláṣadé Adeyemo (Odeda) and Hon. Adebayo Ayorinde (Abeokuta North); and Adesina Ogunsola (Obafemi Owode). Also present were Party Chairmen from Odeda, Ifo, Obafemi-Owode, Ewekoro, and Odeda local government areas, as well as all 6 local government Youth and Women Leaders, among others.
