Abeokuta, Ogun State – Senator Shuaib Afolabi Salisu, representing the Ogun Central Senatorial District and Chairman of the Senate Committee on ICT and Cybersecurity, yesterday expressed his admiration for the Ojude-Oba Festival, describing it as a vibrant celebration of Ogun State’s rich cultural heritage.
The Senator conveyed his distinct honour at having joined His Excellency, Governor Dapo Abiodun CON, his wife, Mrs. Bamidele Abiodun, the Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele and other distinguished leaders celebrated what he termed “one of the most vibrant cultural festivals in Ogun State.”
Senator Salisu remarked on the festival’s “absolutely electric” energy, “vivid colours,” and “unmatched” unity on display. He highlighted the captivating presence of “majestic horsemen” and “stunning traditional attire,” noting that “every moment was a beautiful reminder of the rich heritage we’re so proud of across Ogun State.”
He extended hearty congratulations to His Royal Majesty, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona GCON, the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebuland, as well as to all Ijebu sons and daughters for orchestrating “yet another unforgettable celebration.” Concluding his remarks, Senator Salisu offered the traditional well-wish, “Oju was a ma r’odun o!” and expressed hope for “many more years of preserving and celebrating our culture in grand style.”
